Soccer Night Out with the Minnesota United FC

In late September, our East Side Boys & Girls Club and Global Arts Plus students had an opportunity to attend Soccer Night Out at the National Sports Center in Blaine! The event was part of a Soccer Nights series of celebrations where local youth participate in a skills clinic led by MNUFC Academy staff, play pickup games with other area youth, and meet United players.

Our students were excited to see midfielder and defender Hassani Dotson and goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair at the event! Both Dotson and St. Clair took the time to sign autographs for our kids and pose for group photos. 

Many of our kids had minimal experience participating in organized soccer prior to this eventt. They loved getting to compete in the pickup games against each other and even wanted to challenge each other to a Global Arts Plus versus East Side match! Carbone’s pizza from one of their food trucks was the perfect reward for their perseverance and willingness to adapt a growth mindset when faced with challenges.

The MNUFC Academy did a fantastic job of organizing and engaging with the youth! We look forward to future events with our Minnesota United FC partners!
