Volunteer with ACES!

There are a variety of ways that you can volunteer with ACES to help advance education equity in Minnesota. Whether in the classroom, on a field trip, at a special event, or in another way, your time and skill set can make a difference in our work to close the academic opportunity gap.

Classroom Aide

Classroom Aides volunteer in ACES’s classrooms, supporting the Academic Coaches and Site Coordinators who lead our programming at ACES partner sites. If you’re looking for a  meaningful, hands-on opportunity to build connections with and support young learners, this is the role for you!

Consistency is key for student success, and Classroom Aides commit to supporting the ACES classroom a minimum of two (2) times per month throughout the semester. Before- and after-school opportunities are available. Applications will be reviewed in cycles, and are due on October 15th (for fall semester) and January 15th (for spring semester). 

Classroom Aides must be at least 18 years old and are responsible for their own transportation. All volunteers working with ACES students will undergo a background check. Please note: there are a limited number of Classroom Aide spots per semester.

Skilled Volunteerism

Skilled Volunteerism gives us the chance to meet each other where we’re at – you let us know what skills you want to contribute to ACES and we find the best fit to apply them. Whether your interest is in public speaking, grant writing, photography, serving on a committee, or something else, we would love to hear from you via the Volunteer Interest Form!

One-off Events/Opportunities

Some of the volunteer work at ACES is on an as-needed basis. These opportunities could include chaperoning a field trip, working the registration table at an event, or helping at a back-to-school clean up. Let us know what types of one-off opportunities interest you the most by completing the Volunteer Interest Form, and we will contact you directly as these opportunities arise.
