ACES to Participate in 11th Annual Give to the Max Day
ACES to Participate in 11th Annual Give to the Max Day
by Jenn Schultz
What began in 2009 as a launch party for Give MN has turned into a special day of giving for nonprofits and schools across Minnesota. This “giving holiday” is designed to highlight the work and worthiness to these nonprofits and schools, giving generous Minnesotans an opportunity to give to the causes that mean the most to them. GiveMN also offers prizes in the form of donations to create a friendly rivalry between nonprofits, provide more excitement and urgency to the day, and help the gifts of donors go even further. Since 2009, Give to the Max Day has helped raise nearly $170 million dollars to 10,000 nonprofits and schools throughout the state.
Give to the Max Day is a great opportunity for those who want to get involved but don’t have the financial means to give in large dollar amounts. Donations begin as low as $10 and can be made using a debit or credit card. These donations also make your chosen nonprofit eligible for additional prizes. Give MN offers golden tickets to various donors throughout the day, awarding additional money to their financial gift. Even the smallest donations add up and can make a great impact! The nonprofits and schools that raise the most money also receive additional prize money from GiveMN. As a nonprofit, ACES relies on the generous gifts of our donors to continue to grow and provide a quality curriculum to our students. All money earned goes right back to our classrooms: training our Academic Coaches, purchasing educational materials to enhance learning and offering offsite activities to enrich the learning experience. We are currently at four sites with our newest location at Hiawatha Prep just beginning. We seek to continue growing so that we can help more underserved communities in the Twin Cities and continue working toward our mission of closing the achievement gap.
