ACES Announces Donation from Minnesota Wild’s Matt Dumba for ACES Family Relief Efforts

Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba today made a donation to ACES to support ACES families who have been impacted by the quarantine to help provide immediate and basic needs.

As this pandemic continues to grow and draw concerns, our students and their families remain a priority. We are grateful for our unique and special relationship with the professional Minnesota Sports teams and athletes. These partnerships allow ACES to focus on our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) objectives: teamwork, perseverance, goal setting, confidence, problem solving, and more.  

Dumba joins ACES in their goal of eliminating the academic achievement gap in the Twin Cities. ACES out-of-school time utilizes sports to provide academic experiences, increasing math and social-emotional learning for low-income students in grades 4-8 in both Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Leaders like Dumba bring our SEL curriculum to life. Dumba has participated as an ACES Ambassador for 4 seasons, serving as an e-mentor to youth, and providing Wild suites for ACES students and families to attend games. His ongoing leadership allows ACES’ to focus on putting students first. Our programming is vital to our students' academic and emotional health. We know that in time like these, our families are deeply impacted, and we remain positive by continuing to stay in communication with our ACES families and supporting them by providing community resources and free educational resources.
